I plan to start work soon on a page about combustion chamber quench. I was given the go-ahead by oldbogie via PM (on 1-20-12) to use info from various Hotrodders forum posts he made on the subject (as well as my original text). Would you like me to ask him to send you confirmation before I submit the article to the CC wiki (I didn't think to do this at the time)? Also, how long should permission like this be kept? Right now it’s saved in one of my PM folders at the Hotrodders forum (other permission statements are in my email folder) and can remain there for the duration… is that good enough? :I think you're right to be overly cautious, and we may eventually need some sort of formal legal agreement to cover this. I think, for now, just hold on to the PM. As I understand it (as a non-lawyer), the only person who could bring legal action against the wiki for this type of activity would be oldbogie, and if he's granted permission, I doubt he would renege.--[[User:Jon|Jon]] 11:55, 10 April 2012 (MDT)

I created a template, <nowiki>{{sign}} </nowiki> (modeled after the entry at the top of your user talk page), that has brief instructions on signing entries (like on article discussion pages and user talk pages) that says: “{{sign}}”. Do you see any benefit in adding it to discussion pages preemptively? My thoughts are that it might avoid [http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/Talk:Narrowing_a_rearend this].
