Finding images

From Crankshaft Coalition Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Oftentimes, the best way to add a picture to an article is to photograph it yourself, and then upload it to the wiki.

Of course, this isn't always possible. You can find a picture on the web (or offline), and add it to an article as well. To do this, the picture will either need to be in the public domain (or have a compatible license), or you will need the permission of the owner of the picture.

Sometimes the best pictures can be found in image galleries on hotrodding online communities (for example, the Hotrodders.com Photo Gallery. If you find an ideal pic on such a site, the best thing to do is usually to just email the owner of the photo, and see if it's OK to use it in the Crankshaft Coalition Wiki.

(We will most likely have to update this policy in the future with a stricter permissions procedure. For now, an informal request to use a picture should be OK.)
