Cavalier R&P
Cobalt,

Really like your article on "swapping to a rack & pinion steering" and I'm wanting to do the same on a 40 Chrysler.

Would you please list the GM vehicles and years that use the same CTO R&P unit as the Cavalier in the article?

Are these known as the "J" cars ?

(I read somewhere that they're all the same) Thanks in advance gatz271

:Hi gatz271. The Cav is a J-body. Your best bet by far is to ask this question at the hotrodders.com forum (it's connected to this wiki). After creating an account, you can post a question. I'd suggest you ask it in the Suspension - Brakes - Steering forum. Good luck.--Cobalt327 13:43, 28 January 2013 (MST)

Give...

:This is not an open forum, per se- instead it's a data base. If you cannot locate enough info in the appropriate sections, your best bet is to ask this question at the hotrodders.com forum (it's affiliated w/this wiki). After creating an account, you can post a question. I'd suggest you ask it in the Engine forum. Good luck!--cobalt327 14:30, 1 December 2014 (MST)

Article credits
Its interesting that you have taken credit for an article that I wrote.  Pretty sleazy thing to do if you ask me.

Mopar Tapered Axle Brake Upgrade was written by me.  You had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Centerline

:I take exception to your accusation. I have "taken credit" for nothing that you have contributed. If you are worried about the credits that appear above the articles, I agree that minor contributions and/or edits of spelling, grammar, formatting photos, etc. should NOT be accompanied by a credit on the same line with the main contributor- if at all. The way it is now, if a logged-in member so much as adds a period at the end of a sentence, their name appears on the same line with the originator of the article. I myself have originated numerous articles that now have other names alongside mine for having done nothing more than add a category to the bottom of the page! Currently this is how Jon has the Crankshaft Coalition wiki set up. In fact I have asked Jon to add an option to eliminate credit from appearing in an article when only minor edits have been done. So far, nothing has come of this request- but it's not like I haven't been aware of this being a problem and it's not like I haven't tried to do something about it.

:If you are not satisfied with my explanation, or if you are referring to something other than the credits that appear above your article, I respectfully request you respond here and give me a chance to look into it. Or contact Jon. But I repeat- I HAVE NOT taken credit for your- or anyone else's- work.--Cobalt327 11:13, 16 January 2015 (MST)

::In that you have not responded, I'm going to take that to mean you now understand the facts.--Cobalt327 05:15, 14 July 2015 (MDT)

:::The "FACTS' are that my article was posted with my permission under the copyright of my web site.  The article was copied from my website and because this Wiki refuses to remove the names of those who "add periods" at the end of sentences and the like and associates those names as an author, I revoke my permission of use, and will lodge a complaint of copyright infringement. This notice will appear on my website informing all visitors that this site is in violation of my copyrighted material.

::::The following quote is what you agreed to when you added material to this wiki: QUOTE Please note that all contributions to Crankshaft Coalition Wiki are considered to be released under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 (see Crankshaft Coalition Wiki:Copyrights for details). If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here. You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource. Do not submit copyrighted work without permission! END QUOTE

::::Remember- YOU submitted the material here.Cobalt327 17:11, 23 February 2016 (MST)

:::::Regarding your statement: QUOTE ...this Wiki refuses to remove the names of those who "add periods" at the end of sentences and the like... END QUOTE, who refused to remove the names? I can't remove them- to do so requires higher clearance than my admin status allows. So, what- Jon refused to help you?? Have you been in touch w/Helena??? Maybe she can help you... FWIW you could copy your article, delete the original article, then resubmit it as a new article. That will remove any other names from the “by” line- as long as no one comes along and changes anything. Or you could remove the article in toto if you don’t want it here any longer.--Cobalt327 19:15, 23 February 2016 (MST)

::::::Regarding your problem- you will be given until 5-1-16 to respond. If nothing more is forthcoming I will consider the issue closed. This section will be among those deleted when I do housekeeping of my User page.--Cobalt327 17:45, 15 April 2016 (MDT)

TH350 article
Hi, could contact dave@performancecert.co.nz regarding Turbo 350 trans article. Thanks, Dave from New Zealand (18:25, April 26, 2015‎ 122.58.20.181)

:Thanks for the kind words via email. For the record, the vast majority of the TH350 transmission article was written by a member "jakeshoe", he's the most knowledgeable in automatic transmissions at hotrodders.com.--Cobalt327

Blocking
Hi, was just wondering why I have been blocked without warning. I have removed all my posts - once you find the time, please delete my user account and the posts under the user: "error_401".

Best regards - I'll go look for another place to post my build thread about the CHEVY 4.3l V6. Mark.

:THIS WAS A MISTAKE! On the 10th of May I blocked something like 37 users due to spam and it appears I mistakenly added your account to that list of blocked users. All I can say is I am sorry for this and you are welcome here. I have reinstated you as a user and replaced your (very informative) text/info. Should you still want your info deleted, I will do so at your request.--Cobalt327 10:59, 27 March 2016 (MDT)

::Thanks for reinstating my account. Just added more info as yesterday I had the block test assembled and ordered the pistons.

GMC V12
Hi Cobalt327,

I have a V12 and I've hung on to the article you wrote about increasing the oil flow to prevent cavitation. I am planning on building the dual oil pick up this summer based on the information you put up. I have known about the cavitation problem since I purchased the motor 4 years ago. It was an irrigation pump motor and was run on I was informed on Butane. I wanted to see how your refit worked out and what rev limit you achieved. I have and aircraft hydraulic background and understand the mechanical flow idea but will seek out technical assistance. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  --72.187.6.183 16:44, 15 April 2016 (MDT)

:Because of how the wiki credits all edits equally- adding a period at the end of a sentence gets the same credit on the "by" line as the originator of the entire article- you wouldn't know this, but my contribution to the page was only editing existing text and formating images. The actual technical info was provided by user 'Rocketile', who unfortunately hasn't added anything since March 12, 2014. I don't have any more info at this time, sorry. --Cobalt327 17:37, 15 April 2016 (MDT)
