A major incident has been avoided, Mr. Kumar said. He said though it was too early to know the cause of the fire, the traders burnt heaps of rubbish near their shops, and there might be a possibility that a spark would have caught onto something and caused the flare. This is the third incident of fire in the district this week, following a major flare in a similarly congested Valiyangadi and a second one at Elathur.

look design for entrance to Norwich's Castle Mall submitted, jordan shoes for women

The plans feature a new patterned aluminium faade to the building which will cover and extend beyond the existing structure and will be internally illuminated, air max tn pas cher. This new design is reflective and will change in response to the weather.

As well as changing the frontage, cheap christian louboutin shoes, the entrance height at street level will be raised and the steps removed to make the entrance more accessible.

"We took on board the opinions voiced at the previous planning meeting. As such, we have appointed a new design team to look at ways to enhance this main entrance, nike requin tn, having regard to both its setting in Norwich,tn chaussure, but also the need to improve and provide a more contemporary image for the centre.

"This scheme which is inspired by Norwich's rich heritage in the textile industry does just that, looking back to our past but also forward to our future." The newly submitted plans will soon be on display at the information desk on level 2, where shoppers will be able to share their views with the centre management team. The new scheme has been designed by Stanley Bragg Architects, in conjunction with Feilden and Mawson Heritage Architects.

Caroline Williams, chief executive of Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, said: "As the chamber pointed out in August, there are real reasons to be positive about the growth prospects for our region. Capital investment in improved facilities is a good example of this, as it not only helps retain the 850 jobs currently at the mall, but hopefully will be the prelude for more to follow as new retailers are attracted to the improved centre."

Stefan Gurney, executive director of the Norwich BID, said the investment would improve the street scene and add to the city's vibrancy.

He added: "Improving accessibility with the removal of the entrance steps, chaussure nike requin tn, the raised roof and improved lighting will provide an inviting and warm frontage to welcome shoppers and visitors alike."

This new design is not very appropriate for Castle Mall as their is no focal point to the design and hence looks clumsy. As other people have clearly pointed out, a new entrance will not attract more people to the centre or encourage people to stay there. The management needs to focus on restoring the original interior and exterior thus bringing back the original new feeling that was present when it first opened. As LSI Architects were the people who designed Castle Mall shouldn't they have been the most appropriate choice for a design team with a little input from the original architect Michael Innes.

I seem to remember that there was an argument made by the then owners of Castle Mall that opening another city centre shopping complex would cause it irrevocable harm. Chapelfields has certainly proven them right. Whether or not in these austere times a city like Norwich can support more than one large shopping complex is a moot point. However, the fact is that most of the bigger names in retailing seem to prefer Chapelfield's. Unless, Castle Mall can do more to become enticing to bigger retailers (and thus shoppers) I fear that wasting money on the entrance will simply be papering over the cracks!

The entire mall needs a refresh and modernising. Spruce up the interior, deep clean everything, get some quality shops to compliment the existing tat shops (some of the shops like George and the old Burger King have been empty for over 5 years, it's time to do whatever needs to be done to fill them even if its dirt cheap rent for the first few months).

Make the place pleasant again, nike tn pas cher, clean up the water feature and gardens at the top, maybe get a restaurant in again to compliment the Cinema and keep the mall alive in the evenings like Auberge used to. Fix the lifts and the escalators. Get some plants in there again.

Every time I go into Castle Mall it looks worse these days, right now there is a very fine line between it being pleasant or it being a dead mall half filled with budget tat shops. Management seriously need to pull their head out of the sand.

As a designer of buildings, chaussure nike requin tn, I can appreciate the look of this addition to this frontage, but I fail to see how it's going to help get shoppers through the doors into what is an ageing mall with not a great deal of exciting shops in it. I was walking through the other week and thought to myself how tired and dated the whole mall is looking now. But then I guess we forget it's been there for what, 20 years now? In my opinion, nike tn requin pas cher, if you're going to get shoppers through the doors, you need to encourage more decent shops in there! Why are there so many empty shops now? Is it because the shop owners don't like the image of the mall?,jordans shoes, or is it because the rents are too high? If it's the former,tn france, then by all means try and revamp the place to encourage better shops. If it's the latter, then spending all this money on a new entrance is surely going to mean you will put the rent up?! Which, nike air max pas cher, in turn, will wreak havoc on trying to encourage new shops in the first place (or make it a struggle for the existing ones stay).

Dragons get set to descend upon Norwich and inspire people to learn about the city's history

General manager leaves Maddermarket Theatre in Norwich

Norwich pub to help homeless through its annual Valentine Beer Festival event

Norfolk and Suffolk Only Fools and Horses fans urged to call everyone Dave today in honour of the late Roger Lloyd Pack

'When you are worrying if your kid is going to get to his 16th birthday you realise what's important in life' Simon Blackwell on his son Deryn's cancer battle相关的主题文章:
