You've got a list of things you need to do to get your home ready for showing. You can't believe you've got dozens upon dozens of things to do. If it's not possible for you to do everything on the list, you can simply focus on the most important things. In real estate, there's what you call the "curb appeal" concept and you may have heard of this before. If your home exterior has curb appeal, you increase your chances of selling your home. Inside your house, most buyers would look at your kitchen and expect it to look in great condition. Of course, everything inside and outside your house is important, but there are some parts of the house that are more important than the others when it comes to home showing. You've probably seen a few or even many homes whose walls showing obvious signs that mirrors, photographs, paintings, or any other items you'd normally hang on a wall. The holes on the wall would look bad to even the least observant buyer. Those are very minimal imperfections that some may accept and others may not. Check that your home's drywall doesn't have cracks or holes that are very noticeable. Obviously, you should have any damage repaired and it will not cost much. Any nail holes in your walls ideally should be filled in with spackle and then the wall should be painted. Your garage floor and driveway need to be in good condition, without any obvious stains or damage. If you do have large cracks or those that are long, then they can be quickly taken care of. This is something you can yourself. Just head over to your local home improvement store and get a bag of ready-mix concrete for filling the cracks. This is not a difficult project to do and won't take you more than a few hours. If there are oil stains on your driveway and garage floor, scrub them clean. Use a good oil stain remover, which you can get at any home improvement store. Many business transactions have failed to push through because of bad first impressions. There are a few easy things you can implement to give buyers a good first impression if you want to boost your home's chances of selling. You'll want to create a welcoming feeling right from your porch, and this means throwing out that doormat and replacing it with something that is much brighter and happier. If the paint on your front door is fading or chipped, give your door a fresh coat of paint. If your front door still looks pretty good, you can simply give it a good scrubbing. Flowers usually have some kind of good appeal to most everybody, so place some pretty potted flowers on the porch where they can be seen and appreciated. The great thing is that there are lots of resources on home showing that you can refer to ensure that you find the right buyer for your home. You've also got your realtor. It's actually to his or her benefit to give you tips on how to best get your home ready for showing, so don't hesitate to seek your realtor's help in this area.
