===Disassembly and Assembly===
Disassembly and assembly may be difficult to explain in a generic "How to rebuild an engine" context. Various makes of engines have different disassembly and assembly methods. Also, fuel-injected and carbureted engines have different procedures for assembly and disassembly.

One option is to have separate sections for some example Chevy, Ford, and Mopar engines. Or, ultimately, we could have separate articles; for example: "How to rebuild a 454 Chevy engine". The separate, engine-specific articles could be linked to from the main "How to rebuild an engine" article.

Another option is to have a generic main section that covers disassembly/assembly procedures that are common to most, if not all engines. Then, we could have separate smaller sections that address specific procedures for 3 popular makes of engine. However, if we are going to specifically address certain engines, then I think we should be very cautious in our selections, and express some originality. For example, if we are going to cover a popular Chevy engine, perhaps the 350 would not be the best choice. --[[User:Jon|Jon]] 11:41, 20 August 2006 (PDT)

I've already started editing the article for clarity and additional content but here are my general comments:
#The article needs to be trimmed down. 
#Use of "I" in an informative article such as a wiki should never be used unless it is in quoted material, and "you" should be used sparingly. Article should also be gender neutral. (Not all of us are "fellows.")
#Though there is a need and desire for original material, in order to have a quality article/site, sources other than community authors should be cited to support statements whenever possible. 
#As recommended by another user, there should be information provided regarding common practices of assembly/disassembly with references to procedures specific to particular engines/builds. A link to a list of links to available procedures would be very useful. 
#Where content is noticeably lacking or awaiting additional content contribution, I have begun to indicate it as <<subject name / content desired>>.
#Quoted/excerpted material should be indented from both sides, if possible, and italicized.
