Software tools to automate Twitter marketing were being greatly promoted a few years ago. It was considered that you could use Twitter as an effective means to grow a list of potential buyers for your products or services. Cutting through the hype, just what sort of results can you look forward to after making use of these Twitter marketing tools? Just how great is Twitter marketing? This article will examine the case for becoming involved and to see if it will really repay your time and effort. Anxious to raise my product sales, I went ahead and got started on Twitter marketing to build a large list of followers hoping to turn them into purchasers. Not only did I pay to register in programs that would get me followers but I invested in several softwares to help promote the products I was selling. Altogether, I ended up purchasing about eight different programs that would aid me with all of this. The first software I bought allowed me to automatically follow people in the hopes that they would then do the same and follow me. Then there was the software that would un-follow individuals who were not following me. This would allow me to follow various people again to get them to follow me. Some of the software I invested in are not interesting enough to bring up but I will just mention a useful program that auto-Tweeted any blog posts I made each time they were published. I must say that the combined effect of using all these software together produced great results as each program did as advertised. Nonetheless, my exhilaration was quickly crushed when I realized that I wasn't generating any money. My plan was to post many blog entries each day and each of them was then sent straight to appear on Twitter. Hoping to increase the number of daily posts, I discovered a way to automatically post any number of entries to my blog and hopefully gain more followers on Twitter. So allow me to reveal to you my results. After three years utilizing these methods, I had amassed nearly 10,000 Twitter followers. And while you may think that is terrific, wait 'til you hear the whole story. During those three years I had affiliate links to my products on no less than fifteen thousand posts in my Twitter account. Other than that, I did no other promotion for that blog, as a matter of fact I didn't even ping the new blog entries to discover how good Twitter was could be. Well I learned, in the last 3 years I made 2 affiliate sales for a total of $48, and I made $8.52 with Adsense. And that specific blog only receives about 2 to 4 visitors each day from Twitter. Basically, having approximately 10,000 followers on Twitter using all these tools will not give you the results you desire. The bottom line is that the money I've made is not enough to cover the cost of the Twitter programs I purchased to start with. So from my perspective, while there may be good ways to advertise on Twitter, using the automatic softwares are not the way to go.
