You bring in people to promote products, who do the same with other people and it goes on. Everyone involved on the down line from top to bottom of the pyramid gets part of the money that is made. Of course the idea never really works out that way. This shows that it would be wise to figure out what is really going on with MLM before you get knee deep into it.

MLM or Multi Level Marketing might seem like a good way to make online money, if you haven't been able to do so in the past. However, this is one area of marketing that is filled with horror stories of people cheating, scamming and taking advantage of each other. You couldn't possibly be really considering this. Obviously, you are moving on to something else. But nevertheless, it might still somewhat hold your interest. If you find that multi level marketing still has some type of magical powers over you, then just read a few of the following facts about it and you will finally see the light.

People want to sign you up as part of their multi level marketing "down line". They claim that it is the simplest way to start up your own company. This is absolutely not true. Creating a business with a personal product is so much better. This will result in more commissions for you. Do not work for another person instead of yourself. You are the product owner. The commission is yours. However, with MLM they will make you work with quotas. You have to pay registration and membership fees. This eventually is not worth all of the problems it causes.

In MLM people want you to become a part of their down line. They claim that it is the simplest way to start up your own company. Their claims are not true. Starting a business with something that you have invented or put together yourself isn't just easier. This will result in more commissions for you. You work for yourself instead of someone else. The product that you promote is entirely yours. As the product owner, any proceeds are yours. But, with MLM it will be a rule to deal with quotas. You have to pay registration and membership fees. Basically, this is not worth the trouble.

People who work in the multi level marketing industry want others to see MLM as an ideal method of marketing that is good for the online culture. But , the industry is mostly based on fear. A lot of MLM recruiters like to play on the emotions of new recruits by making them fear the economy is not getting any better and that this is the best way to make decent money. Recruiters know how to utilize fear to make workers want to be their own boss, but insecure enough to continue working for them. There is nothing that is appealing about this kind of action.

You will often hear the MLM cannot possibly be a pyramid scheme because actual physical products are being sold. But, MLM is too much like one of these scams not to be one. It does not mean that you are not being scammed just because you are selling physical products and not mailing money. The courts were finally involved because of the difficulty involved. You have to sell a minimum of 70 percent to a non distributor. If the numbers dip any type of way, then it will be believed that someone is getting scammed.

The sales process you'll be forced to use to sell products and hire people is similar.

MLM managers and recruiters, for an unknown reason, like to keep telling their downline that the products they are selling now will be in retail stores and sold to the general public. The truth is that most of the products that are sold through multi level marketing are sold to the people who are trying to resell the products for their own profiting purposes. It is also true that most retail establishments will never carry MLM products, not even on consignment at a huge loss to the MLMer. For many years, MLM has been strongly associated as being useless for the vast majority of people. Yet, the industry still manages to attract more newbies to give it a shot, and so it remains. These people lose a lot of money, end up discouraged and decide that every form of online sale or shopping is fraudulent. Don't become one of these people!

A common myth often perpetuated by those in MLM is that the products that they sell will soon be sold in retail stores after they have been sold through multilevel marketing. In fact, the truth is that the high volume of product sold in most MLM companies are purchased by the people in the company with the intent of selling it to other people in their community. It is also true that most retail establishments will never carry MLM products, not even on consignment at a huge loss to the MLMer.
