District Attorney James B. Martin and Chief Deputy District Attorney Kelly B. Waldron addressed the state Coroners Association's annual conference at the Clarion Hotel, Allentown. But whichever you believe, the murder of an infirm woman at the hand of her elderly husband of 64 years who then took his own life has reignited a conversation on the definition of a merciful death. Although the facts seem clear, the motivations remain murky. As reported, she suffered a stroke in early March and was moved to an inpatient hospice unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital Allentown, expected to die within weeks. However, her condition stabilized and consideration was made to transfer her to a nursing facility.<br><br>Robbery suspects allegedly left son, 4, at crime scene<br><br>March 2, 2010<br><br>City police have arrested a couple who allegedly robbed a jewelry store and left their 4 year old son behind. Police say John Benson, 47,iPhone 5 Cases, and Sheakia Stubbs, 31, were arrested around midnight Monday at a Philadelphia hotel. Investigators say Benson and Stubbs fled after grabbing a tray of items worth tens of thousands of dollars at the Platinum and Ice jewelry store on Saturday. The man, only described as being in his 20s, told police he was shot at 11 t h and Turner streets, police Capt. George Medero said. he is expected to survive, he said. Medero said the shooting is still under investigation. He said the victim told officers he and the shooter "exchanged words" at 11 t h and Turner streets just before the shooting. But officials said all was not what it seemed on June 15. State police and other law enforcement officials spent the day telling ambulance personnel and firefighters how tiny fibers of clothing, a dent in a dashboard and other tidbits of evidence can often be the missing link that solves a crime.
