-You nhave to watch the rebuild kits.Some are cheaply made.They may cause the alternator to run even hotter during high demand,[rad/fan motors,etc.] that they will actually melt the main battery side wire to the alternator.Some of those diodesplates will cause feedback when hot causing battery drain.
-I used to overhaul about 10 alternators a week,until Ford started to get outragess with the price of diode plates,stators,& rotors.It was cheaper to put a rebuilt unit in the car so it wouldn't blow the customer out.These units were worthless also cause the Factory authorized rebuilder would,would use the cheapest parts they could find. I've seen them when sometimes the stator wiring was not even soldered to the diode plates.Cheap inexperience labor I would imagine.They lasted usually less than a year.
