I am building a ratrod coupe and the main goal is to try to build it as cheap as possible. For the headlights I had some Model A shells ,but the reflectors were shot. I decided to put a sealed beam into the shells. You  can watch how I did it on Utube,,,here is the link.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWyM6-qLARA

There is also under my (ajbcc2) project journals on hotrodders.com a pictorial of the same thing. It only cost me about twenty dollars to do the swap, because I already had the shells and the stainless steel..

For some who are building a ratrod, the main goal is to try to build it as cheap as possible. For the headlights, [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWyM6-qLARA putting a sealed beam in a ratrod Model A headlight shell] is an option. In this case, the reflectors in the shells were already no good. This mod was done for about twenty dollars because the shells and stainless steel stock that was used was already on hand.

A similar mod could be done to most any headlight shell, even from a motorcycle.
