High-quality, well-developed articles should be distinguished from barebones, under-developed articles, for the following reasons:

  • It's discouraging for users to click on an article title, expecting to see a developed article, only to see a few sentences.
  • It allows us to show off our best content.
  • It allows users who are wanting to expand articles a way to locate articles needing development.

[edit] Current method for distinguishing articles

[edit] To identify a good article

To identify an article as a "good" articles, simply place it in the "Good articles" category by adding the following text to the bottom of the article:

[[Category:Good articles]]

This will automatically place it in the list of Good articles.

[edit] To identify an undeveloped article

To identify an article as an undeveloped article, simply place it in the "Undeveloped articles" category by adding the following text to the bottom of the article:

[[Category:Undeveloped articles]]

This will automatically place it in the list of Undeveloped articles.

And, add the following text at the top of the article:

{{newarticle}}

This will place the "new article" template at the top of the article.
