Streetbeasts Files Frivolous Lawsuit Over Article
Recently, we wrote an article detailing the history and reputation of Streetbeasts, a disreputable kit-car manufacturer. In response, Streetbeasts has tried to silence us with a frivolous lawsuit.
Over the years, we've stood up to plenty of mainstream hotrodding industry companies. This time, it's no different -- Streetbeasts think they can silence us by bullying us out of our free speech. They're wrong.
We've refused to take down the article, and we're rallying our 70,000+ members to help us defend against the frivolous lawsuit by contributing to our legal defense fund. If you want to lend a hand, and stick up for free speech among hotrodders, you can help out by PayPal'ing a non-deductible contribution to freespeech@hotrodders.com. You can also donate a spare part to our Free Speech Parts Auctions, or you can lend a hand simply by bidding on a part that someone else is auctioning off. Thanks! More details below:
Tech Article Wiki
We've started an online hotrodding encyclopedia. It runs on "Wiki" software, just like Wikipedia, the net's free encyclopedia.
Anyone can edit the articles in the wiki, including you. Over time, wiki articles are updated, refined, and verified with contributions from many members. So far, we have more than 100 articles written.
Here are 5 of the more developed wiki articles:
- How to identify a Ford V8
- Cheapo paint job
- Narrowing a rearend
- Body and exterior tips
- How to title a hot rod
And, here are 5 newer articles that might benefit from your contributions:
- Building a new shop
- Ceramic insulation (alternatives to Lizard Skin)
- How to make a vacuum power brake bleeder
- Gasser
- Improving fuel economy
You can start a wiki article with just a few sentences on any hotrodding subject. Hundreds of hotrodders assist in editing and refining the article.

Hotrodders.com Hot Rod Art Contest
Hotrodders.com members have traditionally started up an informal hot rod art contest in the Hot Rod Art forum on the Hotrodders Bulletin Board. Amateur and professional artists submit drawings, photographs, and doodles on a certain automotive topic, and everyone votes on their choice to win. The winners receive a free Hotrodders.com t-shirt, and, of course, endless glory.
Last month's topic was "Any Year S-10 Truck". Congratulations to the winner, Only Racing, for his "Bad Black S10". You can see all the entrants in the November Hot Rod Art Contest thread.
This month's Hot Rod Art Contest topic is '34 Ford.
