Heater core replacement 70 SS Monte Carlo

My heater core is leaking in my 70 Monte SS with A/C, do I need to remove the right fender liner to access the bolts on the heater box, I did not see any bolts from the inside under the dash, so I take it the studs go through the firewall, any help would be great
