Fix fuel line leak at flare
From Crankshaft Coalition Wiki
This is a military-inspired method for fixing leaking flared fuel fittings in a low-pressure fuel line. It's intended as an emergency fix. If tightening does not fix the leak, try this method.
You'll need fuel-resistant sealant and fuel-resistant string or cord.
- First, remove the coupling flange nut.
- Slide the coupling flange nut up and away from the flared end.
- Clean off the flared end.
- Wrap string around the flared end, and coat the string heavily with the sealant.
- Re-install the fuel line, and tighten the nut securely.
- Check for leaks. Use more string if necessary.
