The casting number for a 56 case SHOULD be 3707306.
The casting number for a 57 NON-posi center case should be 3725899.
The casting number for a 57 posi center case is 3743833.
These last two casting numbers will be the same for 58-61.
The 62-64 casting number for the posi center case changed to 3789812.
The above are all casting numbers for passenger cars.
These casting numbers would have been the same for Corvette rears also, because the rears were ONLY cast and assembled at two plants: Detroit Gear and Axle plant and Buffalo (NY) plant.
The ONLY thing that would be different for the SAME YEAR Corvette and pass car rear center section would be the STAMPED 2 letters on the passenger side of the case designating axle ratio.
