The Crankshaft Coalition is open to new members. We're looking for leaders of online automotive communities, web developers interested in working on unique online community software, and people with a passion for protecting intellectual freedom on the web.
Membership is free. Members can post in our Crankshaft Coalition forums, and participate in Coalition projects.
- If you're a moderator or administrator of an online automotive community, join us for a wealth of information on running and developing your website, and to strengthen relationships with other online automotive leaders.
- If you're a web software developer, you might be interested in the projects in our Coalition Knowledge Projects forum. We're building open source community "hub" software that connects multiple online communities around a central source of shared information.
- If you're passionate about defending intellectual freedom, and interested in the media/legal implications of free knowledge-sharing through the web, we want your participation. We're involved with several organizations that fight to protect online civil liberties. We've recently taken on the hosting of an automotive online community after a forced forum takedown, and we're working to protect the free distribution of knowledge on the web. For more details, check out our Freedom of Information forum.
